Mark McNeil

Mark McNeil

Principal

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 2004, joined McNeil and Co in September 2016 and became a Director of the Firm in February 2020. In October 2020 he purchased the business and is now the Principal.  He is a Higher Court Advocate and as such he can represent clients from the police station through to the Supreme Court.  He has a wealth of experience in regard to all criminal offences and an enviable reputation as a passionate and persuasive advocate.  His record for helping drivers retain their licences is second to none.

Prior to joining McNeil and Co, Mark previously worked with a variety of firms within the local area.

Mark was a key member of the save Lincoln Prison campaign and was invited to Westminster to address government ministers against its closure.

When not at work Mark spends his time with his three young children.  Before studying law he graduated with a Biomedical Science Degree.

Charlotte Tossell

Charlotte Tossell

Criminal Administrator

Charlotte joined the firm in 2014 as an apprentice. Charlotte is based in the Criminal Department, working closely with our solicitors to assist them in their duties. The role includes communicating with clients, both in person and on the phone and assisting solicitors in the preparation of legal documents.

Patrick Gardiner

Accounts Clerk

Patrick started at Andrew Jay & Co in 2015 initially he started out on an apprenticeship. Patrick soon displayed  enthusiasm  and a willingness to learn all aspects of the firm through administration to representing clients.  The result of which he is now an accounts clerk, deals with billing as well as assisting other departments. Patrick is spreading his wings further and is going be undertaking the Police Station Accreditation Course. If you ever have any queries or problems. Patrick will soon resolve these.

Gordon Holt

Gordon Holt

Solicitor Advocate

Gordon qualified with a degree in law from Leicester University before attending the College of Law in Chester. After three years living in France he initially practised in Criminal Defence work and in Employment law in Grimsby before moving to Lincoln to concentrate on Criminal Defence. He became a Partner in his two previous firms. Gordon joined the McNeil and Co Criminal team in July 2021. Gordon appears regularly in Magistrates Courts, Courts Martial and Crown Courts, where he has Higher Rights of Advocacy, and has extensive experience and expertise across the full range of criminal cases.

Rachel Taylor

Rachel Taylor

Solicitor

Rachel qualified as a solicitor in 2001, having achieved 2:1 law degree at Liverpool Sir John Moores University and a distinction on the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, and has been undertaking Criminal and Regulatory work ever since.

Rachel is a qualified duty solicitor for both police stations and courts. She provides a 24-hour service to clients detained by the police and also advises and represents those facing magistrates and crown court proceedings for any criminal offences, including criminal, motoring and regulatory offences.

She is an experienced road traffic solicitor and has a wealth of experience representing clients in respect of all road traffic matters, from the Police Station to the Crown Court.

Rachel undertakes regulatory crime matters including health and safety prosecutions and environmental offences from investigation to criminal prosecution. She can also advise on confiscation and proceeds of crime offences.

Rachel undertakes private and publicly funded work and is able to cover all types of criminal work.

Sophie Kitching

Following her law degree, Sophie continued with her studies and obtained a Masters in Criminal law with Commendation. Sophie is a qualified Duty Solicitor for both the Police Station and Court.

Sophie provides a 24-hour service to clients detained by the police and also advises and represents those facing Magistrates and Crown Court proceedings for any criminal offences, including criminal, motoring and regulatory offences.

Sophie has an attention for detail and prepares cases meticulously, she is passionate and committed to her clients.

When out of work Sophie enjoys spending time with her family, socialising with friends, and travelling.

Zoe Elding

Zoe Elding

Police Station Representative and Crown Court Clerk

Zoe has been representing people at both the police station and crown court for over 10 years. She is highly experienced in dealing with a wide range of offences, including murder, rape and complex fraud and drug conspiracy cases.

Zoe is very passionate about her clients and is known for being very assertive in order to obtain the right result.

When out of work, Zoe enjoys spending time with family and friends and travelling.
